Rural Setting

While we are only 5 minutes from downtown Paris we offer a very serene rural setting to our guests. We truly offer a getaway experience without the journey.

From our deck you may gaze out over our horse paddocks and watch our Rocky Mountain mares graze or frolic in the fields. You might also be humbled by the view of the Carolinian Forest that covers the banks of the Grand River. The foliage created by the majestic trees provide for seasonal definition at it's finest!
Spring and the prolific array of trilliums and lilacs are our favourite, but fall's warm leaf tones and winter's serenity after a snowfall blankets the trees in white, also take your breath away!

A stroll through the woods on our marked trail allows you (natural springs sprinkled through our 4 acre bush make this a most enjoyable adventure for those of you who bring rubber boots- although we do have some you can borrow) to view vegetation and birds that are not often seen in any other forest region of Ontario. If you are very lucky you might sight a Bald Eagle while Blue Herons are quite common. We have installed a simple boardwalk down at the river's edge which, if you venture that far (10 minute walk in total), will leave you breathless and in awe of the reality that you are only a stone's throw from 'civilization'. Some of our guests choose to arrive by canoe and disembark at this shore.

From the front of our property you can gaze out over the Plains of Paris where all you are likely to see in the distance is the horizon.
The sunsets are spectacular and worth the patient wait to see the colours explode as a relaxing day ends.
